3.Topics Covered

Topics covered include the role and responsibilities of a first-aider, assessing an incident, unresponsive casualties (breathing and not breathing), choking, shock and minor injuries. The qualification encompasses key subjects such as principles of basic first aid, assessing and managing incidents, recognition of an emergency, activation of emergency medical services (EMS), assessment of the casualty, first aid to un-responsive casuality, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), post-resuscitation care, choking, shock and minor injuries.

4.Assessment Method

The assessment for this qualification is conducted through a multiple-choice examination and Practical demonstration.
